The recipe I am going to write down is a simple,heart-healthy,quick and easy cauliflower stir fry. This is one more of my childhood favorites. My mother used to make this cauliflower recipe most of the time as it was very healthy and we all enjoyed eating it.The credit goes to my dad too as he always used to insist on healthy cooking and very less oil in the cooking. So my mother had to get creative every time she made a dish to make it healthy and tasty.
Let's get to the making of it-------------
Main Ingredients :
-------------------
Cauliflower.....................1(big)
Olive Oil.........................1tbsp
Black Pepper..................1/2 tsp(powdered)
Salt.................................to taste
Preparation :
--------------
First take the cauliflower and cut it into small florets and place it in salt water for 5 min,so that if there are any bugs in it they will come out.Now rinse them well and keep aside.
Take a pan and put it on the stove on medium heat add olive oil and immediately add the cauliflower florets and cover the pan with a lid and let cook for 5 min.
Now open the lid add salt and stir the florets and cover with the lid and let cook for 2 more minutes.
Remove the lid and add black pepper powder to florets and give them a nice stir and cook for 3 more minutes and turn off the heat.
The cauliflower stir fry is ready to serve. It goes well with hot rotis, chapatis and rice.A favorite of my kids and husband too.Sometimes we eat it just by itself as a snack.
Note :
-------
1)For this dish black pepper powder gives better taste than chilli powder. If you want you can use chilli powder too.
2)I added the florets immediately to the oil because I used olive oil and it is always good to add vegetables to olive oil when it is cold.
I am sending this recipe to Huan( of Eat Read Live ) who is guest hosting the Haalo's Weekend Herb Blogging(WHB #224) the long-running weekly food blogging event, founded by Kalyn over four years ago.
