Mushroom Rice (Simple & Easy)

Today I am going to share with you a simple and easy Mushroom Rice recipe.This recipe is very simple to make and does not need too many ingredients.

Let's get into the preparation of this simple dish--------


Main Ingredients :
------------------
Ponni Raw Rice.............3cups(cooked)
Button Mushrooms.........8oz

Seasoning Ingredients :
-----------------------
Canola Oil.....................1tbsp
Cumin Seeds.................3tsp(crushed)
Black Pepper................2tsp(powdered)
Turmeric.......................1/2tsp
Salt...............................to taste

Garnish :
---------
Cilantro.........................few leaves
Sesame Seeds...............2tsp(toasted)
Crushed Red Pepper.......to taste

Preparation :
--------------
First cook the rice and keep it aside.I used Ponni Raw rice,you can use Basmati rice too.Clean the mushrooms and chop them into small pieces.


Now place a pan on the stove on medium heat,pour oil .Once the oil is heated up add the crushed cumin and pepper powder and fry.


Now add the chopped mushrooms to the pan and increase the heat of the stove as the mushrooms will start to leave water.Increasing the heat will help the water to evaporate and the mushrooms get cooked quickly.


Now add turmeric,salt and stir well and once the oil starts to separate reduce the heat.


Now add the cooked rice and mix well.


Let it cook for 2 more minutes and switch off the stove.Garnish with cilantro.


Yummy ,Mushroom Rice is ready to serve.This can be served as is with some salad.


Note:
------
1)You can also garnish with dry toasted sesame seeds,little shredded cheese and some crushed red pepper too.

2) My children like to eat this rice in combination with little shredded cheese,diced cucumbers and carrots.
