This is a simple and easy recipe with Drumsticks. My kids love anything made with drumsticks as they like to chew on them for a long time.Particularly in Andhra we use it in rasam, sambar, majjigapulusu(kadi) as well as in curries.Even a nice and tasty pickle(Achar) is made out of these drumsticks in Andhra.Drumstick as well as drumstick leaves are very good for health.
Today I am showing the preparation of a simple Drumstick Curry----------------
Main Ingredients :
-------------------
Frozen Drumsticks..........................15 pieces(thawed)
Green Pepper.................................1small
Tomatoes.......................................2
Onion............................................1small
Green Chillies................................3
Seasoning Ingredients :
-----------------------
Canola Oil.................................2tbsp
Ginger......................................1inch piece
Garlic.......................................3cloves
Poppy Seeds............................1tsp
Coriander Seeds.......................1tsp
Cumin Seeds.............................1tsp
Turmeric..................................1/2 tsp
Paprika Chilly Powder..............1/2tsp
Salt.........................................to taste
Garnish :
----------
Cilantro
Preparation :
-------------
I thawed the frozen drumsticks and then cooked them in the cooker for 2 whistles. While the pressure was cooling down I cut the green pepper into 2inch size pieces and diced the onions and tomatoes into small pieces.
Place a pan on the stove on med-high heat and pour the oil into it.Once the oil is heated up add half the onion pieces in it and fry till they turn golden.
Now add all the green pepper and turmeric to the onions and stir well.
While that is cooking make a paste of the ginger, garlic, poppy seeds, cumin seeds and coriander seeds. Now add this paste to the pan and stir well .Add a pinch of salt and cook it till the raw smell is gone.
Now blend the tomato pieces and rest of the onion pieces and add this paste to the pan of spiced veggies and stir well and cook.
Now take the drumsticks from the cooker and add them to the spiced veg mix in the pan.Add paprika and salt and let it cook till all the spices blend in well.Garnish with cilantro.
Yummy Drumstick curry is ready to be served with hot rice.

ReplyDeleteKiran, I answered your question on my blog thinking it might help someone else. But here it is again. Bread machine is the one which can knead the dough, let it rise in itself and bake in the same pan. That being said, there are various bread machines and what I have is a 'Breadman Pro'. You can get it in target or any other store. There are other company bread machines too like hamilton beach, black and decor. It is not expensive and mine was a gift (about 100 dollars). You can get a nice one for about 50 dollars too. If you do not mind buying it from the thrift stores, you can get it for less than 20 dollars and I have seen almost new ones for that price there. Hope this helps. What I have is almost same as this link but all stainless steel and it is 5 years old so this could have some new stuff in it.
