Tried and Tasted on Tuesday's(3T's) : August 10th 2010

It is Tuesday and I am back with 3 delicious recipes that I tried and tasted in my kitchen following the recipes posted by 2 wonderful bloggers in their blogs. All the three recipes were easy to make and delicious to taste. Here are the tried and tasted recipes without any delay-----------

1) Ven Pongal from Vidhu's Kitchen by Vidhya Ravikumar.

Ven pongal is one of my favorite dish as a kid.My children love to eat it too.I was planning to make it and wanted to look for some variation in the dish and started browsing. Then I came across Vidhu's Kitchen and liked her recipe.Instead of adding whole peppercorns and cumin seeds she added them in powdered form along with crushed/powdered ginger(I never added ginger before). This interested me and I made it.We all loved the new taste of pongal.I followed her recipe as is.Thank you Vidhya for sharing such a delicious recipe with us.

2) Coconut Chutney from Vidhu's Kitchen by Vidhya Ravikumar.

I wanted to make coconut chutney as a side dish for ven pongal and thought that it would be nice to follow Vidhya's recipe for this too and made it according to her directions. It tasted very yummy and was a perfect side for the ven pongal.Thank you Vidhya for sharing this delicious chutney with us.

3) Chapathi Upma from Aayi's Recipes by Shilpa.

I was having few whole-grain tortillas with rolled oats and flax seeds.Wanted to make something different with them and started searching for some upma dish with leftovers and came across this chapathi upma from Aayi's Recipes and loved it.Made it immediately and had it for our breakfast, we all loved it.Thank you Shilpa for sharing this delicious recipe with us.
